Storyboard
The plot includes a natural spring that originally fed a small pond and wetland area. Both were destroyed when barriers retaining the water were removed, allowing cattle grazing, and the drainage system constructed by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) to discharge rainwater, primarily from the road surface.
The damage caused by the cattle can be understood as a result of soil compression due to the weight of the animals, as well as the fact that they defecated, leaving feces scattered across the entire wetland area. In the case of the MOP drainage system, it primarily collects water, dust, remnants of rubber (from tires), and oils, which are then freely discharged into the wetland area.
Therefore, as part of the project, there is a plan to restore the original wetland, reestablishing the wetland zones and the historic 'Pond of the Ducks.' Within this process, the wetland will begin to play a role in purifying the water from the MOP drainage. Once this is achieved, the goal is not only to maintain it but also to utilize it for promoting environmental awareness and education (Explora programs) to encourage the conservation of our natural environment.
