Temperature
Topic
The ambient temperature plays a crucial role in defining the need for and amount of energy required to create a comfortable indoor environment in a house. The difference between the desired indoor temperature and the outside temperature determines the temperature gradient across the walls, which, in turn, defines the heat flow and, consequently, the energy required. However, it's important to consider that there are factors that can affect this energy requirement, such as the insulation properties of the walls, the amount of surface area in contact with the exterior, the influence of wind on heat transfer at the house's surface, and, finally, solar radiation exposure.
